Hiking and fishing can be enjoyed in the George Washington and Shenandoah National Parks and the new Seven Bends State Park. Luray Caverns and Shenandoah Caverns are nearby as well. And be sure to visit the "Canoe Capital of Virginia", "down valley" in Front Royal. A drive to the Woodstock Fire Tower to take in the Seven Bends of the Shenandoah River at sunset is not to be missed.

Directions:Take Route 66 to Exit 6 for Front Royal, heading South on Route 340/522. (This is an alternate way into Strasburg, which is easier than taking the Left-hand merge onto I-81). Before you reach the bridge for Front Royal, take a Right onto VA 55 West to Strasburg. Out of Strasburg take Route 11 South, then go 9.65 miles and turn Left onto Route 663 / Artz Road. (Artz Road is 0.4 miles past Jess Sine Road). Then go 0.47 miles; at the mailboxes, take a Right and go over a small bridge. The first house is a three-story yellow house; ours is the next one (blue/gray, two-story with porch) to the Left. If you reach the low-water bridge that crosses the Shenandoah River, you've gone too far. If opting to take Route 66 to I-81, at Exit 1A take a Left-hand merge onto I-81 traveling South (towards Roanoke). Take Exit 292 and turn Left on Route 651 towards Toms Brook and then a Right onto Route 11 South. Drive through the towns of Toms Brook and Maurertown . Turn Left onto Route 663 / Artz Road to the house.
