Over fifty years ago a young girl scout, like hundreds of girls before her, stood under a wishing tree and made a wish. Her wish was to earn her merit badge in journalism and become a writer. Every day began with a flag ceremony, and ended with a troop of very tired and happy girls. Whether or not the wishing tree is still there is any ones guess.
