How does each state match up against foreign countries when it comes to Olympic medals?
The 2016 Summer Olympics have come to a close, and the medal count is in. The United States dominated, winning 121 events and compiling 266 individual medals. Some states’ athletes really brought home the gold (California), and others brought home a handful of bronze and silver. Some states would have been just as well off to stay home and watch it from their sofas like the rest of us.
Here at Estately, we wanted to show not only which states won the most medals, but also which foreign countries had a medal count equal to that of each U.S. state.
