In honor of Valentine’s Day, the real estate search experts at Estately set out to determine which cities have the most romantic homes for sale. To do this, we analyzed real estate listings for 25 of the largest cities to find which cities had the most romantic home features. We ranked each city from 1-25 based on which cities had the highest percentage of homes with features like fireplaces, Jacuzzi hot tubs and bathtubs, and wine cellars, as well as homes described as “romantic” or “cozy.”

Our results showed California is home to the top three cities on our list, and Texas had three in the top ten. Cities in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest did not rank highly, and the Northeast was generally in the middle tier. Our complete rankings and results for all five of our variables are shown on the chart below.

1. San Diego

San Diego ranked no lower than 7th in any of the rankings, and that’s without even factoring in those sensational San Diego sunsets or beaches to go for long walks on.

2. Los Angeles

Romance isn’t just something found on Hollywood’s silver screen; it’s also found in dozens of real estate listings in Los Angeles. There were actually more home features described as “romantic” in Los Angeles real estate listings than in all other cities on our list combined.

3. San Jose

San Jose homes are ideal for those looking to cozy up with someone they love. The city ranked highest for homes for sale with “cozy” in the description.

4. Houston

When you think of “hot and steamy” in Houston, the first thing that comes to mind is probably the humidity, but the city’s real estate market is romantic as well. Opportunities to curl up with a bottle of wine by the fire are ample in Houston, even if the A/C is usually cranked up to 11.

5. Jacksonville

Florida may not seem like the first place you’d curl up next to the fire with someone, but Jacksonville homes for sale provide plenty of opportunity to do just that.

6. San Antonio

San Antonio is named for Saint Anthony, the patron saint of lost things. So if you’re a home buyer who’s lost that loving feeling, a home in San Antonio might be just help you find it again.

7. Boston

A relaxing soak in the hot tub or a Jacuzzi-powered bath tub is readily available in many Boston homes currently for sale.

8. Denver

When winter winds are howling outside, Denver home owners can enjoy a romantic getaway in their cozy wine cellars.

9. Dallas

Dallas residents who can’t swing a romantic trip to Napa Valley can often just walk downstairs to their wine cellars. The city has more wine cellars and wine fridges per capita than any of the other cities on our list.

10. Philadelphia

The City of Brotherly Love is also the city of Jacuzzi tubs and cozy homes, so there’s something for everyone.

Everyone deserves to love the place they call home. Find your dream home online using Estately.com.
