There’s a lot of factors to consider when choosing where to buy a home, but the pop star preferences of your potential neighbors probably aren’t one of them… until now…

Thanks to all the recent spats between Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and Katy Perry, ordinary citizens across this country have had to pick sides. And while these four performer all have large fan bases, Estately set out to find out which one was the favorite in each state. We used Facebook data to determine how many fans each star had in each state and the results are interesting.

MILEY CYRUS

First off, Miley Cyrus didn’t come out on top in any state. She’s most Facebook popular in Arizona but was still beat out there by all three of her rivals. The lowest percentage of Facebook users who like her are in North Carolina, although that state still prefers Miley Cyrus to Taylor Swift.

NICKI MINAJ

Geographically, Nick Minaj controls vast swaths of the American Southwest, as well as much of the Eastern Seaboard. She has the highest percentage of fans in Maryland. Her lowest percentage can be found in Montana, a state that associates “anaconda” with a local copper mine, not the Nicki Minaj album.

TAYLOR SWIFT

You’ll find Taylor Swift fans primarily in states lacking beach access. She controls much of the Midwest and Great Lakes Region. She is loathed in Mississippi—Arizona actually has five times as many fans per capita as it does.

KATY PERRY

Katy Perry may sing about California girls, but she’s not the top star for the state. Her followers are found in the greatest abundance in the Rocky Mountains, near the mouth of the Mississippi River, in the hollers of the Appalachians, and in the most recent states admitted to the Union.

If you don’t like any of these pop stars consider living in North Carolina, home to lowest percentage of Facebook users who give a crap about any of them.
